As the Clerk of the City Council, the City Recorder records all City Council proceedings, manages all public records, and serves as the City Elections Officer.

The Recorder serves as the Executive Secretary to the Mayor, Councilors, and City Administrator and is charged with coordination of meetings, agendas, and public notices, maintenance of the City Code, preparation and management of minutes, ordinances and resolutions, and processing of all official documents of the Junction City Council. In addition, the Recorder responds to citizen comments and processes public records requests, community reader board applications, park rentals, special events, and temporary business licenses.
