The 2026 Junction City Community Survey was shared to the Junction City website and across city managed social media pages. It was described as follows:

“This community survey aims to assess quality of life in Junction City, OR, and identify improvements the city government can make to better serve residents. The survey will remain open until May 4, 2026, at 11:59 PM PST. Survey submissions will be anonymous when results are reviewed by the City Council.”

PURPOSE OF 2026 COMMUNITY SURVEY

“The City Council will be hiring a new City Administrator in the coming months. Section 27 of the City Charter provides that the City Administrator is the administrative head of the city government. Appointment by the City Council shall be without regard to political considerations and solely on the basis of administrative qualifications. The administrator attends Council meetings, keeps the council advised of the affairs and needs of the city, sees that the provisions of all ordinances are administered to the satisfaction of the council, appoints, disciplines and removes appointive personnel including all department heads, except the City Attorney and Municipal Judge (who are appointed and removed by the City Council), organizes and reorganizes the departmental structure of city government, as directed by the council, and prepares and transmits to the council an annual city budget. (See Section 27 of the City Charter for a complete listing of responsibilities.) (https://www.junctioncityoregon.gov)

The Mayor and Councilors are reaching out to the community to get input on the essential qualifications and characteristics that are important to community members. The Council will be reviewing this critical feedback as they develop a job profile that will outline desired skills, attributes and professional characteristics for Junction City’s next Administrator. The job profile will also identify future issues facing the City that the Administrator will need to address during their tenure with the City.

Thank you for taking time to provide your feedback on this important Council decision.”

The survey was live online and accessible to the public for a total of 20 days, closing on May 4th, 2026, at 11:59pm. Printed copies were also available at City Hall, Viking Sal Senior Center, and the Junction City Public Library.
