Water Quality & Testing
The City of Junction City is responsible for conducting testing on both influent and treated effluent wastewater. Some of the tests conducted are biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS), pH, temperature, turbidity, total coliform, Escherichia coli (E. Coli), nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia. The type of testing conducted depends on the time of year.
Definitions:
Discharge Season – November 1 through May 31
Irrigation Season – June 1 through October 31
Influent – Incoming wastewater (raw)
Effluent – Wastewater that has been treated and is ready for discharge.
